Update Oct 1. Due to that air-flight tickets from the key organizer and initiator of the Fistula Awareness campaign was non existing. This came as a chock, disbelief and later devastation for the top six Miss Norway contestants from 2016-2018. Getting the message from the airfare company that the plane wasn't booked from the initiator and responsible for the whole project. Then the thoroughly planned Uganda trip was not possible to carry out. We worked for 26 hours trying to get accurate airfare info from the organizer, included long overdue travel info.

When that didn't materialize, only getting partly the asked for information bye the traveling beauty pageants, related family, and Miss Norway organisation. We did a a comprehensive assessment of the situation Miss Norway was put in, also including the nearest family members to the winners of Miss Norway. We stopped all the travel activities.

At Miss Norway Organization 2018, we will focus on raising awareness on Obstetric Fistula in Uganda. Contestants will meet with women living with Fistula, a traumatic tear between the vagina and bladder or rectum which causes urine and stool to come out uncontrollably, and raise awareness on this issue together with the support from the United Nations Association of Uganda, Uganda Health Communication Alliance, Ministry of Health Uganda, various activists, doctors, Ugandan journalists and many more.

This campaign will unpack the various medical and social issues surrounding the condition affecting over 2 million women worldwide and raise world awareness. Beauty with a purpose Norway under Miss Norway Organization will focus on increasing the general understanding of the condition, to remove stigma and encourage sufferers and their relatives to seek medical help where necessary, by collaborating with doctors and health practitioners in Uganda.
