Quarantine and solidarity

Hi all!

Hope all is well with you!

There are unusual conditions here in the world right now.

Here in Norway, several measures have been put in place. Schools and kindergartens are closed. You cannot travel abroad. Leisure activity has been cancelled. Many are quarantined and some of them are infected by COVID-19.

You all must please follow these measures and prevent further spread.

Maybe you are not in the risk group. Anyhow you have to think of the older ones or those with underlying diseases that make it more difficult to cope with the virus.

This quote from Sophis Bush is so true.

Most people who are infected will probably have mild respiratory symptoms that will pass by themselves, while some will have more serious illnesses including pneumonia and difficulty breathing. This means that you react differently and you must pay attention to the people around you.

My grandmother is at risk. She is also incredibly dependent on me coming to her a couple of times a week. That is why I have decided that I will not be with any friends for the first few weeks. Do not want to infect grandma or others.

Here is a picture of my brother, my grandmother and me.

I think we all should thank all those working in the health care system now. It is already starting to get tough for them, but it is going to be so much worse. So just want to thank everyone for helping the vulnerable in the situation we are in now. I have so much respect for nurses and every other person that is working in the health care system.

Not only are nurses everyday heroes here, but also people who are working in the stores, cleaners and so many more. Just want to thank everyone for the work they are doing.

I feel so much for companies and other workplaces that have the risk of being bankrupt through this situation. This means that many people can lose their jobs, let us hope that this will not happen.

Finally, I just want to say that we all have to stand together to and have compassion for one another. It gives me so much hope that most people take this seriously and are good at staying away from crowds, have good hygiene and are good at volunteering.

My thoughts also go to all the other countries in the world such as the US, China and Italy. We will get through this.

I wish everyone the best and take care!

A big hug from Andrea Nicole <3
